First Profession 2020 300

The Congregation of Holy Cross joyfully welcomes eight new religious who made their first profession of vows on August first at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

We congratulate our newly professed who represent three jurisdictions in the Congregation of Holy Cross. Br. Pierre-Évenn de Frémond, C.S.C., is from the Vicariate of France. Br. E. Benjamin Rossi, C.S.C., is from the Midwest Province of Brothers. The remaining six newly porfessed are from the United States Province of Priests and Brothers. They are Mr. Richard Bevington, C.S.C., Mr. Noah Junge, C.S.C., Br. Bobby McFadden, C.S.C., Mr. Aaron Morris, C.S.C., Mr. David Murray, C.S.C., and Mr. Alexander White, C.S.C.

With three newly professed religious brothers, this First Profession class represents an encouraging trend the Congregation has seen in recent years in the United States of more young men discerning and pursuing the vocation of the religious brother. This is a very hopeful sign for Holy Cross, as being a community of religious priests and religious brothers is at the heart of the Congregation's witness to the Church and world.

First Vows

Fr. Mark Thesing, C.S.C., Assistant Provincial and Steward, and Br. Kenneth Haders, C.S.C., Provincial, received the vows of the novices. Sadly due to the current pandemic travel restrictions, Fr. Romauld Fresnais, C.S.C., Superior of the Vicariate of France, was unable to attend.

This year the Mass of Profession was held at St. Mary's Cathedral, rather than Sacred Heart Parish which is sponsored by the Congregation, so that it could be live-streamed for community, family, and friends. Fr. Thesing, C.S.C., was the main celebrant, and Fr. Kenneth Molinaro, C.S.C., Novice Master, preached the homily. Sacred Heart Parish graciously provided the musical accompaniment.

We offer our prayerful support for our newly professed. We also thank the novitiate formation team and staff, Fr. Molinaro, C.S.C., Fr. Donald Dilg, C.S.C., Assistant Novice Master, Br. James Blaszak, C.S.C., Procurator, and Fr. Lou DelFra, C.S.C., for their wise guidance and direction of these men throughout the novitiate year.
