Holy Cross Celebrates Final Vows in South India Province

Fr. KJ Abraham, C.S.C., Second Assistant of the General Council, presided at the solemn Massfor the Profession of Final Vows of Mr. Nibin K. Cyriac, C.S.C., a member of the South India Province. The liturgy was held on October 18 at St. André Home, Sakalavara, Bangalore. Over 30 Holy Cross priests and some of the Holy Cross brothers from Bangalore were able to be present for the occasion. The brother candidates served as members of the choir.

Due to COVID 19 travel restrictions, only the parents and younger brother of Cyriac were able to attend the ceremony. Fr. Abraham preached the homily and accepted Cyriac's Final Vows.  After the Mass, the celebration continued with a brief felicitation and dinner.

On the following day, the Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Bishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, ordained Cyriac to the Order of Deacon.

Deacon Nibin K. Cyriac was born in Pala, Kattayam, India. Desiring to be a priest since childhood, he was introduced to Holy Cross by his aunt who is a religious sister. He began his formation in 2009 and professed his First Vows in 2016. His ministry experiences include catechetical work, youth ministry, and home visits in the parish. Deacon Nibin is devoted to Mary and the rosary.
