Province of South India Rejoices in Priestly Ordination in Kerala

Province of South India Priestly Ordination of Fr. Nibin Cyriac, C.S.C.

Deacon Nibin Cyriac, C.S.C., was ordained to the priesthood in the Syro-Malabar rite on April 26 at St. Thomas Church, Kolad, Vazhithala, Kerala. The Most Rev. George Madathikandathil from the Diocese of Kothamangalam, was the ordaining bishop. Fr. Biju Thomas Vettickal, C.S.C., served as Archdeacon at the ceremony and presented the candidate to the Bishop for Ordination.

Fr. Roque D’Costa, C.S.C., Superior of the South India Province to which Fr. Cyriac belongs, recounted that the bishop’s gentle, pastoral nature made the liturgy even more prayerful.

More than 900 people attended the ceremony, 21 of whom were members of South India and North-East Provinces and 50 other religious from various religious congregations. After the Ordination, Fr. Cyriac was congratulated with flowers, tributes, and much affection.

The South India Province is grateful to the Pastor of St. Thomas Church who meticulously organized the entire liturgy and other functions of the day.
