Ten Final Professions for Brothers in Bangladesh

Final Profession of Br Sattya RIchard Purification, CSC

Br. Sattya Richard Purification, C.S.C., on January 26, 2013, became the 10th Holy Cross brother in Bangladesh to profess Final Vows in the previous two months.

He professed the religious vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience forever according to the Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The celebration was held in his home parish in Mothbari. Presiding at the Mass was Rev. Subrata Boniface Tolentino, C.S.C., who is Pastor of the parish in Mothbari.

Eight Bangladeshi Brothers Celebrate Their Final Vows

This recent wave of Final Professions for the Congregation of Holy Cross in Bangladesh began November 23, 2012. That day, at a Mass presided by the Most Rev. Lawrence Subrata Howlader, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chittagong, eight Holy Cross brothers made their Final Profession: Sanchoy Mathius Rozario, C.S.C., Nicholas Liton Tolentino, C.S.C., Sumon Joseph Costa, C.S.C., Provat Placid Purification, C.S.C. Chayan Victor Corraya, C.S.C., Shimul Andres Rozario, C.S.C., Placid Peter Rebeiro, C.S.C., and Taren Joseph Palma, C.S.C.

On January 11, 2013, Br. Topon Lawrence Serao, C.S.C., joined them in professing his Final Vows in his home parish in Bonpara, Natore. The main celebrant at the Mass was Bishop Gervas Rozario, Bishop of the Diocese of Rajshahi.

All 10 of the recently finally professed brothers are members of the St. Joseph Province. At all three celebrations, the brothers’ vows were received by Br. Harold Bijoy Rodrigues, C.S.C., Superior of the St. Joseph Province.
