The Congregation of Holy Cross is delighted to welcome to the Generalate Community in Rome its newest member, Fr. John (Jack) Ryan, C.S.C. He joins the General Administration in the role of General Steward, replacing Fr. Douglas Smith, C.S.C., who had served generously in the position for over three years. 

Fr. Ryan arrived to Rome on August 11 from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he served as President of the College for 10 years. He spent his first few weeks in Italy studuing the language, exploring the city, and familiarizing himself with the Italian customs. He officially began as General Steward on September 1.
