Holy Cross Celebrates Final Vows in Bangladesh

Mr. Mithu Leonard Palma of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province.

The Congregation of Holy Cross rejoices with the recent Final Profession and Diaconate Ordination of Mr. Mithu Leonard Palma, C.S.C., of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province. Mr. Mithu Leonard Palma, C.S.C., is one of three children of Mr. Lawrence Elias Palma and Mrs. Veronica Rebeiro. He was born in Chitkigari in the Diocese of Rhajshahi and is 33 years old.

After professing his First Vows in 2014, he completed his studies at Holy Spirit Major Seminary. Devoted to the Blessed Virgin, Deacon Mithu desires to work with the poor and marginalized in the future. This year he will assist at Mathbari Parish (St. Augustine of Hippo Church).

He professed his Final Vows at the Holy Cross Scholasticate Chapel in Rampura, Dhaka, on May 26. The Most Rev. Shorot Gomes, Bishop-Elect of the Diocese of Sylhet, presided at the Mass and Fr. James Cruze, C.S.C., Superior of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province, received his vows.

Mr. Mithu Leonard Palma, C.S.C. Final Vows with family

The following day, the Most Rev. Bejoy D’Cruze, O.M.I., newly appointed Archbishop of Dhaka, presided at the Diaconate Ordination, which was also held at the Holy Cross Scholasticate in Rampura. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, guests were limited to a few immediate family and some religious.

There was a short reception for Deacon Mithu immediately after the ceremony.
