In Canada, a joint committee of sisters, brothers, and priests of the Holy Cross family has already been working to plan and organize events for the 150th Anniversary of Fr. Basile Moreau’s death, which is January 20, 2023. Since April 2022, they have been hosting a monthly conference via Zoom on the 20th of each month to explore the life and legacy of the blessed founder of the Holy Cross Family.

These conferences will culminate in a grand celebration of Basile Moreau’s Anniversary of Death on January 20, 2023, at Saint Joseph’s Oratory and presided by Bishop André Richard, C.S.C.

The presenters have included a diverse list of sisters, brothers, and priests. While the conferences have been given in French, there has been simultaneous translation offered in Spanish and English.

The remaining themes in the series are:

  • October 20: “The pastor” by Fr. Rudolph Arty, C.S.C.
  • November 20: “The man of Urgency” by Sr. Micheline Tremblay, C.S.C.
  • December 20: “The man of fire, zeal, audacity, courage” by Fr. Jomon Kalladanthiyil, C.S.C.
