The first in the five-part series took place on August 20, 2020, and featured Br. George Klawitter, C.S.C., who spoke about “The Early Brothers and Fr. Dujarie.” The webinar had a robust response, which included administrators, board members, and educators from around the world. One school even hosted a “watch party” with both faculty and students. Br. George’s webinar can be viewed at the following link:  https://vimeo.com/451608314.

The next webinar is scheduled for later this month on September 24 and will feature Fr. James Connelly, C.S.C., former congregational archivist. Fr. Connelly will discuss his book, “The History of the Congregation of Holy Cross," which will be released in December. While other webinar dates and topics are determined, not all speakers are finalized:

  • October 22 - Holy Cross Eduction in the U.S. and Abroad
  • November 19 - The Gift of Charism and our Guiding Principles Today
  • December 17 - The Internationality of Holy Cross - presented by Br. Paul Bednarczyk, C.S.C.

The Holy Cross Institute is responsible for strengthening and assuring the Holy Cross character and identity of the secondary schools, and other educational institutions sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. The Institute provides resources, programs and events that educate administrators, faculty, board members and students on the unique educational legacy of the Congregation of Holy Cross.

Dr. Marco Clark, Director of the Holy Cross Institute, says his goal is “to expose our constituents to the rich heritage and history of Holy Cross and to help our Holy Cross schools see the many moving parts and impact of the Congregation globally so that they know that they are part of something much bigger than themselves.”

Dr. Clark hopes to continue the series in 2021 with broadened topics of the charism and mission of the Holy Cross Family.
