On 22 October 2025, the Feast Day of St. John Paul II, the Congregation of Holy Cross, in collaboration with Holy Cross Family Ministries, is inviting people around the world to participate in a Global Rosary for Peace. The Rosary will begin at 4:00 PM in Rome, and all are invited to participate, whether from the quiet of their homes or in gatherings at chapels, parishes, and schools.
This online Rosary connecting the world in prayer draws on the spirit of Venerable Patrick Peyton, Founder of Holy Cross Family Ministries, who traveled the globe hosting Rosary Rallies and preaching, “A world at prayer is a world at peace.” Hundreds of thousands, even millions, attended some of those Rosary Rallies, making them moving experiences of the power of prayer. In rallying people from around the world to pray at the same moment, the Global Rosary for Peace similarly seeks to unleash the power of prayer in our world today through Mary's intercession.
The Global Rosary for Peace resonates with the call of Pope Leo XIV at the General Audience on 24 September for “everyone, each day of the coming month [of October], to pray the Rosary for peace—personally, in the family, and in community.”

"We were excited that our efforts in hosting the Global Rosary for Peace dovetail with this call of His Holiness," said Br. Paul Bednarczyk, C.S.C., Superior General of the Congregation of Holy Cross. "Our hope is that this Global Rosary will unite an even greater number of people around the world in a powerful moment of prayer to Our Lady for peace."
This will be the second consecutive year that the Congregation and Holy Cross Family Ministries team up to host a Global Rosary for Peace. The first time was 16 February 2024, and tens of thousands of people from around the world joined to pray the Rosary of the Seven Dolors for peace. While some people connected on their own, there were many families, parishes, schools, and religious communities who gathered to join the broadcast and pray the rosary together.
Following that first Global Rosary for Peace, Br. Bednarczyk promised that “as a religious family, we will continue to seek ways to unite people in and through prayer, so that there may be peace and justice in our world.” The Global Rosary for Peace on 22 October is a fulfillment of that promise and a continuation of the Congregation’s work through Holy Cross Family Ministries to promote prayer for peace, especially among families.

Holy Cross Family Ministries was born out of the global missionary work of Venerable Patrick Peyton, a Holy Cross priest, who dedicated his life and ministry to evangelizing about the importance of family prayer and, in particular, the Family Rosary. As a result, he became known by many as “the rosary priest”, as he tirelessly encouraged, “The family that prays together stays together.”
“Our founder, Venerable Patrick Peyton, believed in the power of prayer,” said Fr. Fred Jenga, C.S.C., President of Holy Cross Family Ministries. “He believed prayer began in the home and the power of that prayer overflowed to the surrounding community. We hope individuals and families around the world will join us to bring hope to the world and demonstrate by our example the power of prayer.”
