Fr. Emmanuel Kallackaral, C.S.C., Vicar General and First Assistant of the Congregation, led daylong workshops for religious working in pastoral ministry in both Chile and Canada. The workshops were part of his leadership of the General Administration’s“Mission and Ministries”Portfolio.
The workshop in Chile took place on November 22 at the Santa Cruz House of Formation in Santiago. In Canada, there were two workshops: The first was held in Burlington, Ontario, on Wednesday, November 29, and the second in Saint-Laurent, Quebec on Thursday, December 7.
The teachings of Pope Francis and lessons from the life and ministry of St. John Mary Vianney were the launching pads for the religious to delve into discussions and reflections on their ministry. Fr. Kallackaral underscored three essentials that form the foundation for pastoral life and ministry: commitment to prayer, deep love for the Church, and zealous, missionary mindset.

All of the workshops included time as well for prayer and fraternal meals to stregthen the community bonds among those involved in this key minsitry of the Congregation.
